Sugar Skin|糖皮

Images of urban life have remained a potent source of inspiration for artists and writers. In this exhibition titled “tang pi” (sugar skin), New York-based painter Sihan Zhang attempts to use the language of painting to express the sugar skinned realities of our time, and gives them color and form, trying to make an emotional response to ways millennials speaks and dreams in today’s societies.

城市生活一直是艺术家和作家的灵感源泉。在本次展览《糖皮》里,纽约新生代画家吴晓张尝试用绘画的语言来表达的当代年轻人眼中的糖皮世界,并通过丙烯赋予混沌生活颜色和形式, 艺术家希望通过夸张急躁的笔触反应快节奏的当代糖皮社会。

Xiao Wu|吴晓

Xiaohan Wu (born 2000, Shanghai) is a New York-based contemporary artist who is currently pursuing a B.A in painting at Parsons School of Design. In her painting, Sihan emphasizes the expressive tension between brushstrokes, colors, and forms along with other elements.

吴晓(2000年出生于中国上海),当代新生艺术家,目前就就读于美国帕森斯艺术学院,现生活和工作于纽约。张思涵在绘画实践中强调笔触、色彩和形式等元素的表现张力。
